Tasks.....
You can manage a Community Connector™ Place project by tracking tasks defined in task pages.
A task page describes a piece of work that will move the project toward completion;
identifies the Community Connector™ Place member responsible for performing the task; lists the start
and due dates for the task; and lists other characteristics of the task, for example,
its priority.
When you create a task page, it appears in the Tasks folder. The Tasks folder
displays information on all the task pages that have been created for a project.
You can alternate between a standard list of task pages and a timeline view of the tasks,
which displays each task as a set of highlights in a calendar-like view. You can manage
one project per room. You can use the Tasks folder to view the task pages in the current room.
You can view the tasks folder as:
- A standard list of pages. When you display the contents of a Task folder as a standard list of pages, you can sort any column in the list.
- A set of timelines, that is, a set of horizontal bars in a Gantt-like view, with one bar per task. Each bar begins at the point in the timeline that corresponds to the start date for the task and ends at the point that corresponds to the due date.
- Units of time -- days, weeks, or months -- used to define the intervals in the timelines.
Using either the standard list view or the timeline view, you can also display:
- Incomplete tasks only
- Milestones only
- All tasks
If you have author privileges in the current room of the Community Connector™ Place, you can also copy, move,
and delete task pages in the Tasks folder. And if you have manager privileges in the current
room, you can change certain characteristics of the Tasks folder, for example, the folder name.
