Editing the Welcome and Instructions pages

The Welcome Page is the first page visitors see when they enter a place. If you have manager access, you can edit this page to include information on your business venture or project, rename the page, or delete the page altogether.

If you customized your place by, for example, removing certain folders and adding others, you might want to edit the Welcome Page accordingly.

You can also edit, rename, or delete the Instructions page QuickPlace creates for you when you create a room. The Instructions page is the first page visitors see when they enter a room in a place.

Note If you delete the Welcome Pages or Instructions, visitors see the first item in the table of contents when they enter the QuickPlace room. If the first item is a page, visitors see the contents of that page. If the first item is a folder, visitors see the contents of the folder. If the first item is a room, QuickPlace looks for the first page or folder below the room and displays that page or folder to the visitor.

To edit the Welcome or Instructions page:

  1. Enter the top-level room of the place for the Welcome Page or, enter the room that contains the Instructions page you want to edit.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Edit the title and/or the contents of the page.
  4. Click Cancel, Save as Draft, Publish, or Publish As.
  5. If you clicked Publish As in the previous step, choose one or more publication options and then click Next. Supply all necessary information then click Done.
To delete the Welcome or Instructions page:

  1. Enter the top-level room of the place for the Welcome Page or, enter the room that contains the Instructions page you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Click OK.
