Decorating a place

If you are a manager of your place, you can decorate or alter the look of the place. You can choose one of several design themes or, if the theme is customizable, you can alter one or more individual elements in the place to customize the theme to your liking.

You can also establish a completely new overall design by changing all the individual elements in the place.

When you create a room in an established place, the decoration of the room matches the decoration of the place. You can then change the decoration of the new room if you wish.

When you change individual elements in the new room, that room continues to inherit other decorating changes in the place. For example, if you change the look of the pages in a room and then choose a new theme for the place, QuickPlace updates the decoration of everything in the room except the pages with the changes in the new theme. When you choose a new theme for a room in the place, however, that room ceases to inherit decorating changes from the place.

Decorative Element	Description
Table of contents	Click this if you want to change the color or background pattern of the table of contents, or appearance of the page, folder, and room titles in a place. You can change the titles by changing the style of the highlight used to show that a title is selected and/or by changing the font used for the text of the titles.
Page	Click this if you want to change the color of the published pages in the current room, use a special pattern for the background of the pages, change the color and font of the text in the pages, and/or change the color of pages in edit mode, that is, pages that are being created or edited.
Buttons	Click this if you want to change the buttons in the current room. QuickPlace buttons can appear at the top or bottom of the screen and let you perform various QuickPlace tasks. For example, the New button lets you create pages and folders in the place.
Rooms	You can use rooms to create private areas for smaller teams. For example, you can create a room that is restricted to just a subset of members who need to work together privately. You can set security on a room so that only specific members of the Place can see/enter the room.

After you make changes to an element in the place or in an inner room of the place, a checkmark appears next to the name of that element.

If you decide you want to change the overall look again, choose a new decorating theme by clicking "Choose a theme" on the Decorate screen and then select another theme.
