Displaying task pages in the tasks folder

You can display tasks pages as a standard list of pages or as a timeline view. You can also choose whether to display incomplete tasks, milestones, or all tasks in the tasks page.

Displaying a standard list of pages

To display the contents of the Tasks folder as a standard list of pages:

  1. Enter the room that contains the Tasks folder you want to view.
  2. In the table of contents, click Tasks, or, if a QuickPlace manager renamed the Tasks folder, click the new name of the folder.
  3. Click the List icon in the bar above the timeline view.




Displaying a timeline view

Click the Timeline icon in the bar above the list view. The timeline view is the view you see each time you click Tasks (or whatever name has been given to the Tasks folder) in the table of contents to display the contents of the Tasks folder.



Each time you click Tasks in the table of contents to display the contents of the Tasks folder, QuickPlace defaults to a timeline view of the folder.

If you switch to a standard list view of the Task folder and then want to switch back to a timeline view of the folder, click the Timeline icon in the bar above the list view.



Display a day-by-day view of a set of timelines when the amount of time necessary to complete the average task is measured in days. For example, if most of the tasks in the Tasks folder should take between three and five days to complete, you might want to display a day-by-day view of the timelines.Display a week-by-week view of a set of timelines when the amount of time necessary to complete the average task could be more easily measured in weeks. For example, if most of the tasks in the Tasks folder should take between three and five weeks to complete, you might want to display a week-by-week view of the timelines.

Defining the timeline interval

When you're looking at a timeline view of the Tasks folder, you can specify the units of time used to define the intervals in the timelines by clicking one of the following:

Days. Displays a day-by-day view of a set of timelines. Use this when the amount of time necessary to complete the average task is measured in days. For example, if most of the tasks in the Tasks folder should take between three and five days to complete, you might want to display a day-by-day view of the timelines.

Weeks. Displays a week-by-week view of a set of timelines. Use this when the amount of time necessary to complete the average task could be more easily measured in weeks. For example, if most of the tasks in the Tasks folder should take between three and five weeks to complete, you might want to display a week-by-week view of the timelines.

To define the timeline interval:

  1. Enter the room that contains the Tasks folder you want to view.
  2. In the table of contents, click Tasks, or, if a QuickPlace manager renamed the Tasks folder, click the new name of the folder.
  3. In the upper left corner of the timeline view, click Days or Weeks.


Sorting task page titles

To sort the pages in a Tasks folder when you are looking at a standard list of pages, click the title of the column by which you want to sort. For example, to group the task page titles by the names of the members to whom the tasks are assigned, click Assigned To.

Displaying incomplete tasks only

An incomplete task is one that is not marked with a checkmark. To display incomplete tasks only in a list or timeline view of a Task folder and hide all other types of tasks:

  1. Enter the room that contains the Tasks folder you want to view.
  2. In the table of contents, click Tasks, or, if a QuickPlace manager renamed the Tasks folder, click the new name of the folder.
  3. Click To Do in the upper right corner of the list or timeline view.


Displaying milestones only

A milestone is any task where the milestone checkbox has been checked off. that does not have a start date. To display milestones only in a list or timeline view of a Task folder and hide all other types of tasks, click Milestones in the upper right corner of the list or timeline view.

  1. Enter the room that contains the Tasks folder you want to view.
  2. In the table of contents, click Tasks, or, if a QuickPlace manager renamed the Tasks folder, click the new name of the folder.
  3. Click Milestones in the upper right corner of the list or timeline view.


Displaying all tasks

If you have hidden some tasks in a Tasks folder by clicking To Do or Milestones, you can redisplay all the tasks by clicking All Tasks in the upper right corner of the list or timeline view.
